Jordan Clarkson is now shifting his focus to joining the Gilas Pilipinas for the 2023 FIBA World Cup after coming to terms with his contract extension with the Utah Jazz.
According to a report by Alder Amo of The Philippine Star online, the camp of Clarkson has assured that the Filipino-American guard will soon join the national men’s basketball team’s practice.
“His plans to represent the Philippines haven’t changed. He’ll be there,” a person with direct knowledge of the situation was quoted in the report.
On Monday, Clarkson agreed to a $55 million, three-year extension with the Jazz, the team where he won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award two years ago.
The Gilas Pilipinas will open their 2023 FIBA World Cup campaign against the Dominican Republic on August 25 at the 55,000-seat Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
