Joseph Eriobu’s hard work during the PBA On Tour preseason tournament paid off, as the Magnolia Hotshots signed him to a one-year deal on Tuesday.
His agent, Marvin Espiritu, announced the development on social media.
Eriobu averaged 10.4 points on 61.5 percent shooting from the field during the preseason tourney, where the Hotshots won all of their 11 games.
The Mahindra Floodbuster (now Terrafirma Dyip) selected the 31-year-old forward as the fourth overall pick in the 2016 regular draft. After a year with the Floodbuster, he was traded to the Phoenix Fuel Masters, where he lasted for another year. After that, he had a short stint with the Blackwater Bossing.
Eriobu played in various leagues before joining the PBA 3X3 League. He became one of the best players in the 3X3 scene, and he even represented the country in the FIBA 3X3 Asia Cup 2022 and in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games. (MJD)
