Josh Villanueva Uses His Platform for the LGBTQIA+ Community

541

No one draws attention quite like a celeb or a sports idol that’s why, it creates an impact whenever that are committed to use their platform to promote the LGBTQ cause.

On Instagram, Josh Villanueva says it all when he felt obliged to speak up and stand for a worthy cause and awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community.

In a lengthy Pride Month post, Villanueva reiterated that, “I AM NOT AFRAID TO STAND AGAINST THOSE WHO REFUSE ACCEPTANCE AND LOVE. it always breaks my heart to see harsh comments online hating a person based on how they look, what they believe in, or simply by WHO THEY ARE.”

He also send a gentle reminder that, “IF YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THEN KEEP IT ALL TO YOURSELF.”

“LET US NOT ADD UP TO THE CONFUSION THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE ALREADY FACING BY UNDERSTANDING THEMSELVES,” the Phillippine men’s national volleyball team member stressed out.

Let’s face it. The battle (and judgments) may not always be easy, but it’s important to take a stand to help love win…and make it the new normal, not just during the Pride month!

AS SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN GIVEN THE PLATFORM, I FEEL OBLIGED TO SPEAK UP AND BE THERE FOR THE WHOLE LGBT COMMUNITY. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 I AM NOT AFRAID TO STAND AGAINST THOSE WHO REFUSE ACCEPTANCE AND LOVE. it always breaks my heart to see harsh comments online hating a person based on how they look, what they believe in, or simply by WHO THEY ARE. i’m tired of seeing “uy bakla naman yan”, “bakit di ka pa umamin?”, “mga paminta”, “ang lambot masyado”, “yuck kadiri salot”. it’s never easy to hear such words. it’s never easy to be defined by one’s gender, sexual identity or preference. it’s never easy to be judged by just simply being happy. IF YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THEN KEEP IT ALL TO YOURSELF. a person’s gender, sexual identity or preference has nothing to do with his/her capabilities. remove whatever stereotypes we have in mind. accept rather than just tolerate. educate to spread awareness. replace fear with love. love instead of hate. LET US NOT ADD UP TO THE CONFUSION THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE ALREADY FACING BY UNDERSTANDING THEMSELVES. as someone who can be a voice, i want to use my platform to tell anyone out there that i support you no matter what. i am here to stand up for you, be with you because i feel you. we are one. let’s keep on fighting. i’m sorry, but if you’re still one of those who cannot accept and still speak up in such a negative way, STOP THAT BULLSHIT. NOW. TOMORROW. AND FOREVER. . . . be who you are. love & know that you are loved. HAPPY PRIDE! 🌈✨🤍 #pridemonth
