TITAN Ultra Giant Risers are nearing an agreement that would keep all-Star forward Joshua Munzon with the team for another three years.
Team owner Bryan Galantoc told sports insider Homer Sayson that the proposed contract for Munzon is incentive-based and could reach as much as P650,000 per month.
The development comes after Titan Ultra decided against trading Munzon, who had been the subject of negotiations with TNT Tropang 5G.
The 29-year-old Munzon has been one of Titan Ultra’s key contributors this conference, averaging 15.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in eight games.
He established himself as one of the PBA’s promising two-way players during his breakout season with NorthPort last year, earning Most Improved Player honors and a place on the All-Defensive Team.
The proposed contract, once finalized, would give Titan Ultra greater stability by retaining one of its top players for the next three seasons. (Adrian Co)
