A coach from a team in the Junior Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League has come under criticism after being caught on camera grabbing his player by the jersey.
Head coach Ronjay Enrile of the Imus AJAA Ballers faced severe online criticism for his stern action towards player Lawrence Jacobe.
According to spectators who watched the game, Enrile expressed frustration towards Jacobe for taking an ill-advised shot instead of passing to an open teammate in the corner.
However, the incident served as motivation for Jacobe, as he went on to make several impressive plays for his team throughout the remainder of the game.
Additionally, Jacobe proved crucial in the endgame by sinking six crucial free throws, securing Imus’ victory over Muntinlupa.
On Sunday night, the Imus player took to social media to urge netizens to stop bashing Enrile for his “tough love.”

” Jacobe wrote on his Facebook page.
Enrile, a former Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights guard, also had a brief stint in the PBA with the Coca-Cola Tigers.
