Sports columnist Quinito Henson revealed on Tuesday that Ginebra resident import and naturalized player Justin Brownlee would reinforce Gilas Pilipinas for the upcoming Asian Games in September.
In a Twitter post, Henson also confirmed that Jordan Clarkson would be Gilas’ naturalized player for the FIBA World Cup.
“It’s final! Jordan Clarkson will play for Gilas as naturalized player in FIBA World Cup! Justin Brownlee will play for Gilas in Asian Games!” Henson posted.
“Best decisions for Gilas! Laban Pilipinas!” he added.
Brownlee gained his Filipino citizenship last January. He joined the national team in the final window of the Asian qualifiers, where he averaged 29 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in two games.
Already a hero to Ginebra fans, he cemented his legacy in Philippine basketball when he helped Gilas reclaim the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games last May. (MJD)
