KAI Sotto’s lucrative playing salary in Japan could become a major consideration as the Filipino center weighs a possible entry into the PBA Draft next year.
Sotto reportedly earned around $80,000 per month while playing for the Koshigaya Alphas in the Japan B.League, according to information shared by Fastbreak columnist Homer Sayson.
An informant also claimed that the Hiroshima Dragonflies previously offered Sotto a deal worth close to $1 million annually.
Such figures could play a significant role in Sotto’s decision as he considers his next career move following his current status as a free agent.
Should he join the draft, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel could potentially land the 7-foot-3 center if the Kings end up securing the top overall pick.
Sotto most recently represented Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers, helping the national team secure wins over Jordan and Iran in the fourth window. (By the Staff)
