Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo is engaged to longtime girlfriend Chloe San Jose, with the couple’s relationship and wedding plans once again drawing attention following the Olympian’s latest gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games.
In a video posted online on Monday, it was revealed that the proposal between Yulo and San Jose happened nine months ago.
“Blessed to love you. Blessed to be loved by you. Blessed to have you as my fiancé and, soon, as my forever,” Yulo said.
The announcement of their engagement comes shortly after Yulo added another major achievement to his growing list of international accolades.
Yulo captured two gold medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan after ruling both the men’s floor exercise and vault events.
The 26-year-old gymnast’s wedding plans have also been the subject of public discussion following his recent interview where he said his estranged parents, Angelica Yulo and Mark Andrew Yulo will not be invited to the wedding.
“Kasal po namin ‘yun… mas pipiliin kong kami na lang… marami na din silang ginawa na pinatawad ko na,” Yulo said.
Yulo and his parents have remained estranged since the fallout surrounding his 2024 Paris Olympics campaign, which brought their family issues into public attention.
With his latest Asian Games triumph and the revelation of his engagement, Yulo now enters another significant chapter of his life alongside San Jose, while preparations for their eventual wedding continue to attract public interest. (Adrian Co)
