Kobe Paras delays UP debut due to ankle sprain
The UP community has to wait for Kobe Paras’ much-awaited debut for now.
A lot of fans noticed that the 22-year-old forward was not able to suit up for the Fighting Maroons in their opening matchup against FEU Tamaraws on Wednesday.
This was because the athletic wingman suffered a right ankle sprain.
“It was just a minor sprain, but I don’t want to risk it also,” UP head coach Bo Perasol confirmed.
Despite Paras’ absence, UP was still able to clinch the a 61-55 victory over the Tams on Wednesday.
However, Perasol told reporters that the second-generation talent has to take foot on the UAAP court not just for the team, but for himself too.
“Right now, he needs to feel the game. Regardless if he’s 100-percent, he really needs to feel the game already, even in limited minutes,” he said.
Paras couldn’t agree more with his mentor’s statement, as he cannot wait to play with the UP squad whenever he is ready.
“I’m excited. I haven’t been in a big league for a while,” Paras quipped.
“I’m just blessed nga na UP gave me the opportunity to play with them.”
