Kristaps Porzingis believes Dallas Mavericks could win championship with him
It may be tough for Dallas Mavericks’ Kristaps Porzingis to be able to already practice with his new team only to watch the game from the sidelines, but what strengthens him to look to the horizon is holding on to his ultimate goal of winning a championship, now made possible by being in Dallas.
Porzingis told Tim MacMahon of ESPN, “My end goal is to be able to win a championship.” He added, “That is what is on my mind, so I just want to be in a place where everything is done towards making that possible and there’s no other stuff, no other distractions. I need more time, honestly, but I believe this can be the place.”
The 7-footer has been fully recovered from the ACL injury he suffered last year but has yet to play for Dallas. He will also become a restricted free agent this offseason and the Mavs will likely offer him a long-term contract.
Many fans have been hyped up with the European combination of Porzingis and Luka Doncic and are excited with the prospects of them leading the team to a championship next season. As for now, fans can only just patiently wait for Porzingis to be able to finally wear his much anticipated Mavericks jersey on. (Janiel Abby Toralba)
