Kume Marcial gets anxious on players infecting coronavirus
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial has expressed his concern for the players who are set to join practice with their respective teams.
Despite the planned implemention health protocols and COVID-19 testing, Marcial is still wary about the pandemic situation.
“Mas balisa ako,” he said. “Practice pa lang kinakabahan na ako. Lalo na kapag pinayagan tayong mag-scrimmage and then ‘yung talagang laro na.”
Because worst-case scenario that the PBA chief foresee is that the numerous players might get infected with coronavirus.
“Kapag pumutok to (COVID-19), patay tayo,” Marcial bared.
Teams are not allowed to hold their trainings starting next week.
The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases has allowed the league to open practice facilities, as long four players will be allowed, as well as one trainer and health officer in every team.
