Despite his departure from the Fuel Masters, former Phoenix player Kurt Lojera has expressed his ongoing desire to continue his professional basketball career in the PBA.
According to Lojera’s remarks in Quinito Henson’s “Sporting Chance” column in the Philippine Star, he
mentioned that he is patiently awaiting a call-up from a PBA team.
As stated in the column, Lojera’s rookie contract with the Fuel Masters came to an end in May. Phoenix offered him a one-year contract extension; however, Lojera turned it down due to the inclusion of a 50 percent salary reduction.
Following the conclusion of his contract, Lojera participated in the PSL D2 Super Cup Invitationals with Siomai King, where he maintained an average of 10.3 points in 17.1 minutes per game.
He explained that he embraced the opportunity to play for Siomai King as it provided him with a platform to showcase his abilities and make a case for himself.
Lojera, selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2022 draft, initially played 13 games for the Converge Fiber Xers before being traded to Phoenix. The trade involved Lojera and Ben Adamos moving to Phoenix in exchange for Aljun Melecio and Kris Porter.
Lojera appeared in 10 games for the Fuel Masters. (MJD)
