Kyrie Irving upset of people losing jobs due to vaccine mandate
Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving is not totally against being inoculated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.
In a report by The Athletic, it said that the one-time NBA champion is refusing to be vaccinated as he is upset with people losing jobs due to refusal to be injected with COVID-19 vaccine.
“Kyrie wants to be a voice for the voiceless,” the report stated.
The report further said that Irving has explained his stance to his close teammates as he believes in a grander fight outside the basketball court.
“Irving is challenging a perceived control of society and people’s livelihood,” the report said.
Brooklyn Nets has earlier said that it won’t allow Irving to practice and play with the team unless he is vaccinated.
