La Salle is the best defensive team

De La Salle Lady Spikers has mounted the best defense during the first round of UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament.
This is due to the twin Taft towers Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes who ranked first and second among the best blockers in the league with 1.04 block per set and 0.70 rejection per set, respectively.
La Salle libero Dawn Macandili, for her part, has been the Best Digger thus far with 3.13 excellent digs per set. In addition, Macandili ranked second in the Best Receiver category with 30.72 percent efficiency in reception, just a shade behind Arielle Estra-ero of UP with 35.17 percent.
Rounding up the top blockers are Bea De leon of Ateneo with 0.55 blocks per set and FEU skipper Remy Palma, NU star Jaja Santiago and Joy Dacoron of Adamson all with 0.52 blocks per set.
On the the other hand, completing the Best Diggers list are Kathleen Arado of UE with 2.64, Jellie Tempiatura of Adamson with 2.30 and Bia General of NU. (Ian Rosario)
