Lady Falcons rally past Perpetual

Adamson University Lady Falcons secured their first win against the University of Perpetual Help Lady Altas, 25-19, 25-18, 25-16, in the 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan Saturday.

Adamson’s blocking prowess was put into motion in the third set, sparkling a 9-0 run, 29-12. A crucial error by Cindy Imbo put the Lady Falcons at set point, 24-16. Bernadette Flora sealed the win for Adamson, 25-16.

“They didn’t play up to my expectations. Sobrang messy,” Lady Falcons head coach Air Padda said. “You could definitely tell it was our first game. Everything was sloppy. Our defense was all over the place.”

Adamson had 35 spikes, compared to Perpetual’s 28. The Lady Falcons also registered 12 kill blocks, while the Lady Altas was limited to four block points.

Eli Soyud led her team with 17 points while Chiara Permentilla contributed 13 points.

Maria Tripoli was the lone bright spot for the Lady Altas, scoring 12 points.

Adamson will next face NCAA finalists San Beda Red Lions on Wednesday, July 25, at the same venue. Perpetual’s next match will be against the University of the Philippine Fighting Maroons on Saturday, July 28.
