Lakers coach Luke Walton “get along just fine” with LeBron James
Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton denied rumors about him and his star player LeBron James having a feud.
Everything seems to be alright with their relationship, as Walton told TMZ Sports that the rumors were clearly false.
“I don’t know anything about that … LeBron and I get along just fine,” Walton said.
A report from Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times stated that James’ camp were not happy with Walton’s coaching this season. However, the Lakers seem to trust Walton, expecting to see him coach for the rest of the season.
Brodick Turner of the Los Angeles Times even defended Walton saying, “Nothing is going to happen with Luke.”
He added, “There hasn’t even been any talk about it and there won’t be any talks about it. Luke will definitely finish the season and he has the full support. So any talk in the media or on social media can be put to bed about Luke. He’s not going anywhere. There has been no conversation about it.”
With the Lakers’ current unspectacular standing of 28-29, fans have understandably been doubting Walton’s coaching abilities. To be fair, the disappointing standing may also be due to the team’s multiple injuries this season, with James himself missing 18 games, not to mention the absences of Rajon Rondo, Javale McGee, and Lonzo Ball.
On Friday, Walton and the Lakers will be tested again as they face the strong-contending Houston Rockets. (Janiel Abby Toralba)
