LeBron James expresses hate on play-in tournaments
Despite LeBron James returning from his injury, the Los Angeles Lakers still absorbed their third straight defeat after a 114-121 loss against the Toronto Raptors.
Lakers, who currently has a 36-28 record, are now involved in a three-way tie with the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers for fifth to seventh places in the Western Conference.
This means that the 2020 defending champions are in danger of falling in the play-in tournament.
The play-in tournament involves 7th to 10th seeded teams in each conferences battling out for the final two playoff spots.
Which is why the four-time MVP is not in favor of the play-in tournament, and he even wants the mastermind behind the said format.
“Whoever came up with that s— needs to be fired,” said James who finished the game with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
“That’s wack, You’ve got to earn your spot to be in the postseason. No consolation for finishing last. That’s corny.”
