LeBron, Tyrese, Jaylen starting to build chemistry during workout

TYRESE Maxey is already enjoying the early stages of building chemistry with Philadelphia 76ers newcomers LeBron James and Jaylen Brown.

The three stars recently hit the gym together for their first workout as teammates, giving Philadelphia an early opportunity to begin developing its chemistry ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.

And based on Maxey’s initial experience, the new-look Sixers are off to a positive start.

“First time all three of us worked out, correct. It went well,” Maxey said. “Great communication. Great vibes. Great energy. Three guys who work very hard and take our games very seriously. So that was great.”

The workout marked the beginning of what will be a crucial adjustment period for Philadelphia following a busy offseason that transformed its roster.

With James and Brown joining Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe, expectations are already high for a Sixers team that suddenly has one of the most star-studded lineups in the Eastern Conference.

Embiid was not part of the initial workout, but Maxey, James and Brown wasted little time getting on the court together as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Maxey was also asked who arrived at the gym first, and the young guard did not miss the opportunity to take a playful shot at his two veteran teammates.

“Probably ‘Bron, more than likely,” Maxey said. “Those guys are a little bit older, so they need to do a little bit more stretching than me. I get there, I foam roll, and I’m ready to go.”

It was all in good fun, especially with James entering his 24th NBA season at 41 years old. Brown, meanwhile, will turn 30 in October, while Maxey is set to turn 26 in November.

The Sixers still have plenty of work to do before the season begins, but their new stars are already taking the first steps toward building the chemistry needed to turn Philadelphia into a legitimate championship contender. (Jesus Nathaniel Valdez)
