LOOK: Gretchen Ho Blooms as Reyna De Las Flores
It’s that time of the year when Flores de Mayo commemorates the search of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena and her son – or simply called “sagala”.
Gretchen Ho lets her beauty blossoms, joing the Santacruzan as a “Reyna de las Flores” who carries a bouquet of flowers.
On Instagram, Ho shared her Flores de Mayo pictures and said that she never imagined walking for this procession because of her hate in wearing dresses. But now, the volleyball star-turned-TV host said that she is happy to show her devotion to Mama Mary through this Pinoy tradition.
Sagala or Flores de Mayo is a Lenten Procession held in the Philippines every month of May.

Sagala. #FloresDeMayo2019 . . Never in my life did I think I would be able to do something like this. I think life has been generously granting me ways to relive my childhood differently. Used to HATE dresses, would fight my mom over it. So it’s nice to get out of the sportswear from time to time. Happy to be able to live out my devotion to Mama Mary through a beautiful Filipino tradition 🙏🏻 . .
