LOOK: Pope Francis blesses Hawks’ Martin Luther King Jr. jersey
The “MLK City Edition” uniform of the Atlanta Hawks is set to debut on Martin Luther King’s birthday on January 18.
The occasion became much special when they sought for the blessing of Pope Francis himself.
The Hawks uploaded a video of the pope getting his own custom MLK thread, as he gave the uniform a a quick blessing and a signature from his number.

Pope Francis has regarded King as his idol for because of his nonviolent activism and his fight towards racial equality.
The pope previously talked to selected NBA players and NBPA representatives discussing the league’s intention to fight for social justice.
