GIANNIS Antetokounmpo brought an early Christmas surprise to his new Miami Heat teammates after distributing pairs of his signature Nike shoes to players, coaches and staff.
Antetokounmpo shared a video of the gesture on Monday, showing him walking into a team meeting led by head coach Erik Spoelstra before handing out the footwear.
The two-time NBA MVP joked that interrupting a team meeting to give away his signature shoes has become an annual tradition for him.
Antetokounmpo joined the Heat during the offseason after being traded by the Milwaukee Bucks, ending his long tenure in Milwaukee and beginning a new chapter in Miami.
His arrival has significantly changed the Heat’s frontcourt, with the superstar now set to play alongside Bam Adebayo.
The pairing gives Miami two versatile big men as the team prepares for the upcoming NBA season, with Antetokounmpo expected to be at the center of the Heat’s plans.
Beyond the basketball court, the shoe giveaway offered Antetokounmpo an opportunity to connect with his new teammates and staff ahead of his first season in Miami. (Adrian Co)
