Magnolia ends 3-game slide by whipping Columbian
Magnolia ended its 3-game losing skid via a 118-103 victory over Columbian on Sunday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Romeo Travis had 28 points, Ian Sangalang scored 24 and Jio Jalalon almost had a triple-double with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists for the Hotshots, who evened their record to 4-4.
The Hotshots rose to 6th place in the team standings and sent the Dyip to 7th with a 4-5 win-loss record.
This was Travis’ best game since sustaining an ankle injury a few weeks ago against San Miguel that kept him out for a game.
Travis and Sangalang combined for 16 points in the third period to post a 12-point Magnolia lead entering the payoff period.
CJ Perez had 28 points, while Khapri Alston had 26 points and 14 rebounds for Columbian, which trailed by as many as 18 points late in the game.
