Makati Football Club will field four squads in the Cup No. 1 and Gothia World Youth Cup football tournaments in Europe this month.
The 59-strong delegation made up of the football clubs boys 11 and 13 and girls 12 and 14 squads left for Copenhagen, Denmark, over the weekend.
Makati FC’s first stop is Cup No. 1, a youth football tournament for boys and girls slated from July 11 to 15 in Frederikshavn, Denmark.
During the 2018 edition of Cup No. 1, Makati FC became champions in the Boys 13 division and was runners-up in the Boys 14 final.
After the Frederikshavn tournament, Makati FC will compete in the 47th Gothia Cup, to be played on July 17–22 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
In 2019, Makati FC’s Boys 13 delivered the best performance, making it all the way to the knockout stages as it qualified to the quarterfinals after overcoming three hard-fought matches.
The Boys 12 and 14 squads also qualified for the knockout rounds during that year’s competition.
