Malayo na! PH on pace for SEA Games overall championship

With less than 48 hours left in the 2019 SEA Games, the Philippines is now impossible to beat in the overall medal tally.

The host country has maintained its early lead and has a 56-gold lead over Thailand, while it remains ahead of Vietnam by 59 golds, as of writing.

Only 45 gold medals are left unclaimed in the regional meet.

Arnis and dancesport harvested a whopping 14 and 10 gold medals, respectively. Athletics has so far, raked in 10 golds as well, and the events are still ongoing.

The Philippines also excelled in combat sports like taekwondo and boxing. Wushu also contributed a significant number in the medal haul.

The closing ceremony of the 2019 SEA Games will take place on December 11, at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.
