Allein Maliksi dropped 13 points in the first quarter to spark Meralco’s surge en route to a 106-93 win against Barangay Ginebra in the PBA on Tour exhibition at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on Wednesday night.
The ex-UST Growling Tiger delivered an impressive performance, scoring 23 points, including three successful three-pointers, and playing a pivotal role in leading the Bolts to their fifth preseason victory.
Bong Quinto was also impressive with 22 points, while Raymond Almanzan dished out a double-double effort of 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Cliff Hodge and Franky Johnson added 15 and 14, respectively, for Meralco’s wire-to-wire victory.
The loss halted the three-game winning streak of the Kings, who now stand at 4-4.
The Bolts also limited another UST Tiger, Aljun Mariano, who settled for eight points.
Von Pessumal paced the Kings with 25 points, while Jeremiah Grey had 15.
