Mark Nonoy vows for much-stronger UST

Rookie of the Year Mark Nonoy had an outstanding Finals performance for the UST Growling Tigers.

However, UST fell short at the hands of defending champs Ateneo Blue Eagles in just two games in a best-of-three series.

“Goal namin talaga is championship pero siguro kinapos lang kami. Binigay naman namin lahat ng makakaya namin to compete sa Finals pero kinulang lang kami,” the agile guard lamented.

Still, Nonoy was a tough man to guard — at least according to Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin.

“Mark Nonoy is obviously a problem, for us, not them. he played a tremendous game. He ran himself right into the ground,” Baldwin explained.

Despite failing to capture the title for the Tigers, the former UAAP Juniors MVP still cherishes this Finals experience that will mold the team in more seasons to come.

In fact, the Tigers will continue to put on the work this summer camp

“Masaya naman kami kasi nakaabot kami sa Finals. Malaking experience ito para sa amin. Magpi-prepare kami for next season, kailangan talaga namin maging solid as a team, sabi ni coach [Aldin Ayo] ito ‘yung start na bibitbitin namin for next season,”

“Dito kami kukuha ng lakas namin at magiging motivated kami sa bawat training namin.”
