Former UST Growling Tiger Marvin Lee is honored to play for the San Miguel Beermen in the ongoing PBA On Tour pre-season tournament, as it gives him the chance to play alongside some of the country’s best players.
Lee went undrafted in 2019 but was included in San Miguel’s pre-season roster.
In a report from Tiebreaker Times, Lee said that he is thankful to be mentored by veterans such as Jericho Cruz and Terrence Romeo.
“Sobrang thankful ako kasi sila yung mga kasama ko dito naglalaro sa PBA on Tour. Marami silang naituturo sa akin, marami silang experience na dapat ko pang malaman dito sa paglalaro ng basketball,” Lee said after the Beermen’s last game against Converge on Sunday.
“Sila na ‘yung kuya ko dito so kung ano lang ‘yung sabihin nila sinusunod ko. Syempre sila ‘yan eh, abang lang ako dito,” he said.
Lee is averaging 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on the PBA On Tour. On Sunday, he contributed 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from downtown.
The 5’8 point guard is not wasting the opportunity San Miguel is giving him.
“Ginagrab ko lang ‘yung mga opportunity na binibigay sa akin, hindi ko sinasayang. Binibigay ko lang ‘yung best ko, kung anong lumabas sa game ko at least hindi ako magsisisi,” he added. (MJD)
