Sports insider Snow Badua revealed on Thursday that free agent guard Maverick Ahanmisi could join either Barangay Ginebra or the San Miguel Beermen in the upcoming season.
On X, Badua answered a netizen who asked for an update on Ahanmisi’s free agency.
“Ginebra o San Miguel ang punta nya,” Badua said.
Weeks ago, the sports insider posted a blind item about a player he named “Balbon.” Badua said that this “Balbon” is Ginebra’s new guard. In connection, Badua has been referring to Ahanmisi as “Balbon” during their social media wars.
If he ends up with Ginebra, Ahanmisi could provide scoring, as Jeremiah Gray is expected to sit out the entirety of the upcoming season due to his injury. But if Ahanmisi signs with the Beermen, he will deepen their guard rotation, which already has Chris Ross, Simon Enciso, and Terrence Romeo. (MJD)
