May Pera Sa Ilamim ng Court! ‘Lakay’ Danny I trains June Mar Fajardo at the paint
It is no secret that the reason why six-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo has made a living inside the painted area is because he was under the guidance of legendary big man Danny Ildefonso.
The former San Miguel Beermen star was invited in the recent podcast called “PBA Kamustuhan” where he recalled that during a tune-up game, Fajardo was seen staying at the perimeter despite being listed as 6-foot-10.
Ildefonso took the opportunity to train Fajardo on how to dominate the paint, since a big man like him is a rare commodity in PBA.
Nandoon sa shaded lane,’” the former two-time MVP shared. “’P150,000 lang sweldo mo dito (sa perimeter), doon (paint) P500,000 maximum.”
This is why “The Krakken” became “The Krakken” based on his accolades, all thanks to “Lakay”.
