Jolo Mendoza connected on seven from beyond the arc as he steered Converge past Phoenix, 104-90, in the PBA on Tour at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
It was the FiberXers fourth win in eight starts as they head to the final stretch of their campaign in the preseason tournament.
Mendoza tallied a total of 26 points, most of them in the first half.
Mendoza also led an 8-0 run for a 94-76 advantage over the Fuel Masters with five minutes remaining in the game.
“It’s such a great blessing for me, very grateful ako sa Bosses… kasi nabigyan ako ng opportunity,” said the 25-year-old former Ateneo standout who went into the game averaging just 1.8 points and 6.04 minutes of action.
“This is the closest I’ve gotten to playing in the PBA, so I’m just trying to make the most out of the opportunity,” added Mendoza.
Mike Nieto added 20 points, while Kevin Racal had 12.
Sean Manganti had 15 points for the Fuel Masters, which fell to their fifth defeat in eight games.
They also got 11 from Jayvee Mocon.
