Steph Curry’s proclamation that he holds the title of the greatest point guard to ever play in the NBA didn’t sway basketball legend Michael Jordan.
According to Stephen A. Smith, Jordan texted him to say that Magic Johnson is still the best playmaker in the history of the game.
“Although greatest of anything is always a debate, I beg to differ on the greatest point guard of all time with what you said. Magic Johnson is easily the greatest point guard of all time,” Jordan said in his text message to Smith.
Curry sparked a debate earlier this week during his interview with Gilbert Arenas, where he said that he is the best point guard ever.
When it comes to their head-to-head matchup, Johnson won five championships compared to Curry’s four. In addition, Johnson was a three-time Finals MVP, while Curry won the award only once. Johnson was also a four-time member of the First Team All-NBA, while Curry made the First Team four times in his career. (MJD)
