Mighty Sports showed class anew as it thwarted Al Wahda Club, 85-81, Tuesday night at the Shabab Al-Ahli Club to complete a four-game sweep of the group stage of the Dubai International Championship.

With the win, Mighty will enter the knockout stage as the top seed against the fourth seed of the other bracket.

The Philippine squad was paced with Ginebra resident import Justin Brownlee who pumped in 27 points and hauled down 9 rebounds while Randolph Morris added 19 points and 6 boards.

The Syrian team was looking to take over with just 4 minutes remaining in the game after building a 76-70 lead. However, Roosevelt Adams powered a comeback for Mighty Sports with a split from the free throw line followed by a 3-pointer.

On the next play, Brownlee found Morris down low and forced the defense to foul — putting the big man on the line where he made two free throws to tie the game at 76.

Brownlee then hit a big triple from the top of the key to give Mighty Sports a three-point lead.

Mighty Sports got another huge bucket when Jason Brickman swished a floater inside to stretch the lead to 5 points, 81-76.
