Millete soars as Fighting Maroons zoom to fourth win

Captain Mark Millete once again led the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons dismantle the College of St. Benilde Blazers, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23, in the 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City Wednesday.

A crucial service error by Roniey Adviento failed the Blazers to tied the game at 22-apiece, 21-23.

“Nag lucky breaks kami during the game,” said Fighting Maroons head coach Hans Chuacuco.

“This time it is more of their leadership, individually, paano nila dadalhin isa’t-isa, kapag nararattle and all, paano nila iuuplift yon, paano nila dadalhin as a team,” Chucuco added.

Millete scored game-high 17 points while Jerry San Pedro added 10 markers. UP missed the services of Gian San Pascual because, reportedly, a dog has bitten his arm.

Ruvince Abrot once again led the Blazers with 16 points in 13 points, two blocks and an ace.

UP’s next match will be against the undefeated University of Santo Tomas Golden Spikers on Sunday, August 19, while the Blazers want to bounce back against the De La Salle University Green Spikers on Saturday, August 18.
