‘Mind games lang’: Santos unapologetic over racist monkey taunt vs Jones

Arwind Santos was unapologetic for the monkey gesture he made towards Terrence Jones in Game 5 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals, saying it was all just mind games and part of Basketball.

Santos was under hot water after he was caught on camera acting like an ape on the bench when Jones was called for a foul on Christian Standhardinger late in the first half of the heated Game 5 where the Beermen emerged as the victors.

Despite the backlash, Santos said he was only trying to get into Jones’ head through “mind games”.

“Sinabi ko nga ‘di ba? Mind games ‘yun.

The controversial forward added he had done the act in the past and not just on the KaTropa import.

Santos refused to apologize and insisted that he just wanted to win.

“Magso-sorry ako? Hindi. Depende ‘yun sa kaniya. Kung mapipikon siya, totoong monkey siya. Kung ‘di ka mapipikon, ‘di ka monkey. Kami nang-aasar lang,” he said.

Ganiyan talaga basketball.”
