Nambatac locks down Jalalon as Letran beats Arellano
Letran Knight Rey Nambatac had an all around game of 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the defending NCAA champions to an 89-79 victory over pre-season favorite Arellano.
Aside from stuffing the stat sheet, Nambatac also did an impressive defense on Arellano top gun Jio Jalalon who scored 17 points but only made six out of his 20 field goal attempts.
The win, which is Letran’s third straight, also earned the Muralla-based squad a solo third place just behind Mapua and San Beda.
Arellano is also at 3-1 after the loss, but it had to settle for fourth place since Letran won the tiebreaker.
