NBA champion Jason Kidd paid tribute to Filipino boxing great Manny Pacquiao after spending time with the eight-division world champion during his recent visit to the Philippines.
Kidd, who was in the country for a two-day trip that included an NBA House event in Manila, visited Pacquiao at his home before wrapping up his stay.
The former NBA star shared photos of their meeting on social media and expressed his appreciation of Pacquiao’s hospitality.
“Big thank you to Manny Pacquiao for his hospitality during this trip to the Philippines! It’s always great to talk to one of the greats in any sport and Manny is an icon!” Kidd wrote.

The meeting brought together two sporting figures who made their mark in different arenas, with Kidd earning a place among basketball’s all-time great point guards and Pacquiao building a legendary career in boxing.
Kidd played 19 seasons in the NBA, winning a championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 before moving into coaching.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, remains one of the most celebrated athletes in Philippine history, having won world titles in a record eight weight divisions during his boxing career. (Adrian Co)
