Louie Ramirez from the University of Perpetual Help Altas will have the opportunity to immerse himself in Japanese volleyball culture as he receives an invitation to join the intensive three-week training program of Japan V.League team Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler.
Altas head coach Sammy Acaylar said in an interview with Tiebreaker Times that he gave the reigning NCAA MVP awardee his blessing to grab the opportunity since it will be a huge help to Ramirez as well as to the Perpetual Help team.
“I allowed Louie to train abroad para mas lalo siyang gumaling at marami pang matutunan sa volleyball na madadala nya dito sa team, sa NCAA, at sa bansa,” said Acaylar, who added that Perpetual Help’s Tamayo family also played a role in making the trip possible.
The veteran volleyball coach also said that it is the Weisse Adler who will be providing airfare, transportation in Japan, accommodation, and meals to the Pangasinan-native Ramirez during the three-week training program.
Oita Miyoshi team owner Dr. Atsushi Moyoshi also expressed his excitement at the prospect of welcoming the 6-foot-3 Ramirez, who is to be accompanied by Altas assistant coach Macky Cariño in Japan.
“We are delighted to have Louie join us for this training opportunity. Our team is eager to establish a new relationship with players of his caliber for future endeavors,” Dr. Moyoshi said.
