New guy Sol Mercado happy to see NSD spirit of NorthPort
Sol Mercado is happy to witness NorthPort’s own version of Never Say Die spirit after eking out a come-from-behind victory against Rain Or Shine on Wednesday night.
The 35-year-old Mercado, who was traded for Stanley pringle with Kevin Ferrer and Jervy Cruz, watched the batang Pier erased a 25-point lead en route to a 107-105 victory to push themselves on the top spot of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings.
In a tweet, Mercado said: “These boys got some NSD spirit in them!!! I like it @NorthPortPH way to ball out.”

Mercado has yet to practice with his new team but said he would play if called up on Wednesday.
In his 4-year stint with Ginebra, Mercado was a vital cog in the Gin Kings two title run, especially on the defensive end.
