Niemer, Bell extend Petron’s unbeaten run

Reigning champion Petron played the spoiler’s role as it crushed Foton, 25-20, 25-13, 25-21, in the second game of the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Imports Stephanie Niemer and Katherine Bell were again at their best as they powered the Blaze Spikers to their eight straight win.
More than that, they spoiled the debut of Spanish import Milagros Collar and the return of Dindin Manabat, who is still fresh from a very long stint for Toray Arrows in the V. Premier League of Japan.

Niemer dropped 11 attacks, five aces and a block for 17 points while Bell added 11 kills and three blocks for 14-hit output for the Blaze Spikers, who lost only a single set in all of their eight matches.

Foton imports Courtney Felinski and Collar had 12 markers apiece while Mina Aganon chipped in 10 markers for Foton, which suffered its seventh straight loss after opening the season with a win over United VC.
Manabat, for her part, was very quiet with only three hits.
