Despite facing veteran PBA players in the ongoing PBA on Tour, NLEX Road Warriors forward Dominick Fajardo remains unfazed and refuses to be intimidated.
Fajardo, who worked on the NLEX tollway’s security department before being included on the Road Warriors’ roster, said he has one mindset when he encounters the PBA stars that he just watched on television.
“Ang mindset ko lang is pare-parehas lang naman kami ng kinakain, kaya pare-parehas lang naman kaming marunong maglaro,” Fajardo said.
The Bulacan City native put this mindset into action on Wednesday evening as he scored 20 points to lead the Road Warriors to a come-from-behind 102-94 win over the San Miguel Beermen at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
“Nag stick lang din ako sa game plan nila (Road Warriors) coach Frankie (Lim), nabibigyan lang ako ng bola at ayun nakaka shoot naman,” Fajardo said.
Apart from Fajardo, five other Road Warriors players delivered double-digit numbers: Celedonio Trollano (19), Kevin Alas (15), Clint Doliguez (13), Matt Nieto (12), and Elvin Jake Pascual (10), who scored two crucial baskets in the endgame to secure NLEX’s win.
For the Road Warriors, this was their second win in six matches, while the Beermen suffered their fifth loss in seven games. (AC)
