There appears to be no free television coverage of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, which will officially begin this Friday in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Despite broadcasting the 31st SEA Games on free TV last year, One Sports has yet to promote or post a schedule of events, just days before the biennial games.
However, One Sports+ has already shown football matches and will air the men’s volleyball match of Team Philippines later today, with additional matches available on the Cignal Play Premium application on mobile phones.
One of One Sports+’s Facebook posts encouraged viewers to “Watch the 32nd Southeast Asian Games on One Sports+! available on Cignal TV CH 261 HD and 91 SD, also available on Cignal Play Premium,” but curiously made no mention of their free TV channels TV5 or One Sports.
The lack of live TV coverage of the 32nd SEA Games would surely disappoint legions of sports fans in the country and would be another black eye for the Manny Pangilinan-owned channel, which is already receiving backlash for what critics say is their poor coverage of the UAAP. (AC)
