No immediate return for hurting Jeff Chan

Jeff Chan sat out Barangay Ginebra’s PBA Commissioner’s Cup game against Meralco Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum due to a sprained right ankle.

The 36-year-old went down with the injury following the landing spot foul committed on him by Blackwater big man James Sena in the Kings’ 108-107 overtime loss to the Elite last Friday.

The lefty shooter failed to finish the game and left the venue with his sprained ankle packed in ice.

What’s worse is that it could be the first in a series of games he might have to miss for the defending champion Kings.

“Baka matagalan, masama kasi yung bagsak ng paa,” said Chan at the sidelines while watching the game against the Bolts.

“Initial test pa lang naman yun. Titignan ulit by Wednesday.”
