No Lowry, Philadelphia Settles With George Hill
Philadelphia 76ers settled with veteran guard George Hill after failing to acquire the services of Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors at the close of the 2020-2021 NBA Season trade deadline.
The 76ers got its hand of Hill following a three-team trade that also involved Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
In the deal, the 76ers got Hill from the Thunder and Iggy Brazdeikis from the Knicks. The Thunder acquired Austin Rivers from the Knicks and Tony Bradley from the 76ers, and Knicks got Terrance Fergusson and Vincent Poirier from the 76ers.
Hill had a solid first couple of games for the Thunder this season until he was relegated to the injury list late last year due to various pains.
According to Wojnarowski, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri decided to hang on to Lowry for the rest of the season as he did not find a package that compelled him to part ways with the one-time NBA champion.
