Norman Black on track to achieve rare feat as a coach
The Meralco Bolts were at the most pressured point of their lives Wednesday night, down 3-2 in their best-of-seven finals series agaisnt Barangay Ginebra.
But the night ended with Meralco surviving to live another day after a 97-91 win, forcing a winner-take-all Game 7 today.
Should the Bolts win today, Meralco can finally get even with Ginebra after last year’s heartbreaker.
Should the Bolts win today, head coach Norman Black will achieve a feat no other tactician has done.
Should the Bolts win today, Black becomes the first coach in PBA history to win a title with four different teams.
He did so multiple times with the San Miguel Beermen, including a Grandslam in 1989. He did so with the Sta. Lucia Realtors in 2001. He did so with Talk ‘n Text Tropang Texters in 2012, after winning a five-peat with Ateneo de Manila University in the UAAP. He can do so with Meralco on Friday night.
