Norman Black sees Game 2 a must-win for Meralco
Meralco coach Norman Black admitted that Game 2 of their PBA Governors’ Cup Finals against Ginebra on Friday will be a “must-win” for the Bolts after letting the Best of 7 series opener slip away.
Game 2 will be played at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.
“We’ll see. Anyway, we have to win this game. It’s a must win for us; it really won’t matter where we play,” Black added.
Before a crowd of nearly 11,000 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Tuesday, the Gin Kings pulled off a vintage fightback job for a 91-87 decision.
However, the Bolts are disheartened by their Game One loss.
“Even with the way that we shot and missed plays we should have made, we still had that opportunity. We got to make the most of that opportunity next time, be able to pull it off especially against a team like this. We’ll look at the film and see where we can attack. We’ll come back stronger in Game 2,” said Meralco import Allen Durham.
Raymond Almazan, meanwhile, takes inspiration from their semis win over TNT KaTropa.
“We just have to stay together. Remember, talo rin game sa Game One against TNT pero naka-recover kami,” he said.
