Norwood to Yeng Guiao: Thank you coach!
Yeng Guiao has resigned from his post as coach of Gilas Pilipinas following the national team’s dismal performance in the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
Gilas mainstay Gabe Norwood, however, didn’t let Guiao leave without expressing his gratitude.
Shortly after Guiao’s resignation, Norwood took to twitter to give a message for his former Rain or Shine mentor.
For answering the call in the time of need and stepping up to the task of leading us into battle—thank you, Coach Yeng!

“For answering the call in time of need and stepping up to the task of leading us into battle–thank you, Coach Yeng,” Norwood’s tweet read.
Guiao had led the Filipino cagers to their second World Cup appearance in a row.
But a lineup hampered by injuries and short preparation time, Gilas failed come up with a win in five games against Italy, Serbia, Angola, Tunisia, and Iran.
