Notable UP stars call for #JunkTerrorBill

Notable standouts from UP Fighting Maroons men’s basketball team have made their stand against the Anti-Terrorism Bill.

UP high-flyers Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero exerted some effort in researching and denouncing the proposed measure.

Rivero and Paras also made a vow to help raise funds to post bail of eight activists who were arrested by Cebu City police after protesting against the anti-terrorism bill near the UP Cebu campus.

The son of PBA legend Benjie Paras commended the nabbed protesters for “standing up for what is right”.
“I saw the news in Cebu about my fellow Isko and Iskas. To all my people there who got arrested, thank you standing up for what is right,” Paras, said on Twitter.

“To all my Isko and Iskas in Cebu and everywhere else, stay strong, stay safe, and stand 10 toes down. We will raise money to bail those affected!”

Paul Desiderio and Jun Manzo, a former Fighting Maroons who hail from Cebu, also joined the cause by tweeting #ReleaseCebu7 and #JunkTerrorBill

Other known Fighting Maroons standouts like now-Blackwater guard Diego Dario and Season 81 Mythical Team Member Juan Gomez De Liaño also expressed their disapproval in the heavily-criticized Anti-Terror bill, which was deemed as urgent by President Rodrigo Duterte.
