NU Pep Squad complete huge comeback to reclaim cheerdance title

The National University (NU) Pep Squad reclaimed their fifth overall championship in six years, in the UAAP Season 81 Cheerdance Competition, on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

After failing to secure a podium finish last season by placing fourth, the host squad stayed true to their Coco-inspired theme to reclaim the title through their flawless and neat routines from start to finish.

“Sa team, di namin ginagamit yung word na frustration. Ayaw na namin maramdaman ‘yung nangyari last year,” said NU coach Ghicka Bernabe.

Last year’s titlist Aamson Pep Squad settled for the third spot with their Lion King-motif performance.

The FEU Cheering Squad also made huge strides with their 70s inspired dance number, which resulted in a runner-up finish.

NU, FEU, and Adamson saw themselves with the same finish in the group stunts, placing first, second, and third respectively.
