Kai Sotto’s supporters made their feelings known to the Orlando Magic after the Filipino center was benched during their 89-78 loss to the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Summer League on Sunday.
Taking a look at the official Facebook page of the Magic reveals that this morning’s posts were overwhelmingly filled with angry reactions from Filipinos.
Some of the posts were also inundated with hate comments from Pinoy fans, expressing their frustration over the perplexing decision to bench the 7-foot-3 Sotto despite the hype created by Orlando throughout the entire week.
Pinoy fans were taken aback by Sotto’s benching, considering that the Filipino player is the sole legitimate center in Orlando’s lineup for the tournament scheduled from July 7 to 17.
Sotto’s next chance to play for Orlando will be against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday morning, in a game that will be broadcast live on NBA TV Philippines.
