Pacquiao got shoulder injury riding a jet ski in Gensan
In an interview with GMA News, Pacquiao said that he got his shoulder injury in 2009 and that it has bothered him since then.
In his post-fight press conference, Pacquiao revealed that he was nursing a shoulder injury 5 days before his May 2 bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pacquiao said he decided to push through with the fight because it would take 3 months to heal and he thought Mayweather would not agree to a postponement.
Pacquiao claimed he sought the Nevada Athletic Commission’s (NAC) approval to use Lidocaine to rub on his injured shoulder and relieve some of the pain.
But NAC chairman Francisco Aguilar was adamant that Pacquiao made the request just three hours before the May 2 main event. Aguilar said the NAC denied the requested because it was to close to game time.
Pacquiao’s injured right shoulder prevented him from using his right hook counter he called “Manila Ice.”
